Mission & Goals
Our Mission
To provide support, education, and access to funds to Idaho communities striving to develop and maintain regional children's advocacy centers.
Our Goals
The goals of INCAC are to promote statewide training, education, coordination, funding, research, standards and legislative advocacy for multi-disciplinary teams (MDT's) and children's advocacy centers.
In promoting the team approach, all members of INCAC have access to the combined center resources, and may benefit from the individual centers' goals:
To the child:
-
To minimize further trauma to alleged child abuse victims and their families by coordinating expert evaluation services in one location.
-
To provide expert medical diagnosis and referral for treatment of maltreated children.
-
To provide referrals and resources for needed mental health services.
To the community:
-
To provide presentations and education to any interested group on issues surrounding child abuse and the effectiveness of the team response.
-
To promote a coordinated approach to effective intervention in child abuse.
-
To assist law enforcement and the courts in the successful prosecution of offenders.
-
To provide a database for research and potential legislation on prevention and treatment of child abuse.
